The ISSF Academy is proud to announce the launch of WISE (Women in Shooting Education), a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to empowering women in the field of shooting sport education and coaching.

The WISE network is designed to foster collaboration, mentorship, and professional development for female coaches, shooters, and educators worldwide. By providing a platform for women to connect, share knowledge, and advance their careers, WISE aims to strengthen the role of women in shooting sport.

“WISE represents a significant step forward in our commitment to gender equality and excellence in shooting sport education,” said Karoliina Nissinen, Head of Administration at ISSF Academy.

“By creating a dedicated space for women to learn and grow, we aim to inspire the next generation of female leaders and coaches in the sport.

“Currently, only 18% of ISSF licensed coaches are women, and WISE seeks to change that by offering mentorship, training, and a strong support network for aspiring female coaches.

“Shooting sport needs more female coaches and leaders, and WISE is here to support and empower their development.”

Cath Fettel, ISSF Executive Committee member, said: “WISE is a game-changer for women in shooting sport.

“This initiative creates opportunities for female coaches, athletes, and educators to connect, learn, and grow in a supportive environment.

“By fostering mentorship and professional development, we are not only strengthening the role of women in our sport but also ensuring a more diverse and inclusive future.

“I encourage every woman in shooting sport to join WISE and be part of this movement – because when we empower each other, we all succeed.”

    Key Objectives of WISE:

    • Networking & Community: Connecting female coaches, shooters, and industry professionals globally.
    • Mentorship & Development: Offering mentorship opportunities with experienced professionals.
    • Education & Training: Providing exclusive courses, workshops, and seminars tailored for female professionals in shooting sport.
    • Visibility & Recognition: Highlighting the achievements of women in the sport and promoting leadership roles.

WISE is open to all female professionals involved in shooting sport, from coaches and athletes to educators and industry leaders.

The official launch of WISE will take place through an online seminar on May 20, 2025, where the ISSF Academy will host a special presentation introducing the initiative. The event will feature inspiring keynote speakers, engaging panel discussions, and valuable networking opportunities for women in shooting sport.
