    Asian Games gold medalist Palak Gulia continued her fine form, teaming up with Amit Sharma to win the gold in 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team at the World University Shooting Championship. The Indian duo triumphed 16-12 in a thrilling final against compatriots Sainyam and Samrat Rana at the Karni Singh Shooting Range, New Delhi, on Sunday.

    This victory marked Palak’s third medal of the championship, following her individual silver and team gold in the 10m Air Pistol on Saturday. Palak’s precise shooting under pressure, especially at crucial moments, played a decisive role in securing the win alongside Amit.

    Sara Fabian and Mate Redecsi of Hungary beat Yu-Ju Chen and Hsiang-Chen Hsieh of Taiwan 16-12 to win the bronze.

    Neeru wins Silver, Kirti takes Bronze in Women’s Trap

    India’s Neeru claimed the silver in the Women’s Trap after a strong showing. Despite qualifying in sixth place with a score of 115, she remained competitive for gold throughout the final. However, a couple of missed shots in the last 10 targets saw her settle for second place with 43. Zina Hrdlickova of the Czech Republic clinched the gold with 45 (115). India’s Kirti Gupta earned bronze with 32 (118), while Aashmia Ahlawat finished just outside the medals in fourth with 27 (117).

    Jiri edges out Aishwary in Men’s 50m Rifle Three Positions

    In the Men’s 50m Rifle Three Positions, Czech Republic’s Jiri Privratsky narrowly defeated India’s Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, who had qualified with an impressive score of 592. Privratsky, who finished fourth at the Paris Olympics, shot a steady final to win the gold by 4.7 points. Poland’s Maciej Kowwalewicz took the bronze with 447.2 (592). Two-time Olympian Aishwary’s strong qualification performance helped India (1753) secure the team gold along with Adriyan Karmakar (581) and Parikshit Brar (580). Poland (1750) won the silver while the bronzew was won by Korea (1735).

    Indian Trap Team misses out on Bronze

    The Indian Men’s Trap Team, featuring Jungsher Singh Virk (114), Bakhtyaruddin Malek (111), and Aryan Vansh Tyagi (109), narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing fourth with a score of 334. After a strong qualification performance, the team lost out on the bronze to Italy in a countback. Czech Republic (353) won the gold, Britain (336) won the silver, and Italy (334) came third with the same score as India.

    India leads medal table as competition continues

    India is currently leading the medal table with four gold, five silver, and two bronze, showcasing their dominance in the World University Shooting Championship so far. With several events still to come, the country’s shooters have already made a strong impact, led by Palak Gulia’s remarkable performances.
