In a firm announcement, the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has addressed the surge in wild card requests from shooters seeking participation in the 67th National Shooting Championship. The national federation reiterated its commitment to fairness, making it clear that such requests will not be entertained.
The NRAI emphasized that 2024 offered ample opportunities for shooters to achieve the Minimum Qualifying Score (MQS) required for entry into the championship, with multiple qualifying events held throughout the year. The MQS system ensures a level playing field, and bypassing it would compromise the integrity of the qualification process.
The NRAI further urged shooters to refrain from sending emails regarding wild card entries, stating that such requests will neither be acknowledged nor replied to.
As the 67th National Shooting Championship approaches, it will showcase India’s top shooting talent, all selected through strict qualification standards. The NRAI’s firm stance reflects its dedication to fair competition and high standards in the sport.
