Celine Goberville of France claimed a second medal in 24 hours at the ISSF World Cup Final in New Delhi, as she added the Women’s 10m Air Pistol gold to the silver she won yesterday in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team, alongside her teammate Florian Fouquet.

The 31-year-old shooter won the first ISSF World Cup Final title of her career after beating the Chinese shooters Lin Yuemei and Zhang Mengxue, who won the silver and bronze respectively.

Celine shot consistently during the finals, taking a lead after the very first series. Her only bad shot was a 8.5 on her second last shot, allowing Lin to reduce the gap to 2.2 points, but shot a 10.1 to seal the title on the last shot.

Celine finished with 240.9 points, while Lin closed her final with 237.0.

“The 8.5 at the penultimate shot was due to too much pressure. Actually, the last four were complicated, my heartbeat went up and I had a small loosening,” said Celine.

With 218.7 points the bronze was won by the reigning Olympic Champion in this event, China’s 26-year-old Zhang Mengxue, who secured her second consecutive bronze after the one she had claimed at the 2016 ISSF World Cup Final in Bologna, Italy.
