Olympian Shagun Chowdhary won gold in women trap at the 61st National Shotgun Championship in New Delhi.
The 34-year-old Shagun of ONGC pipped Punjab’s Rajeshwari Kumari 41-38 in the finals. Defending champion Shreyasi Singh, representing Bihar, shot the best qualification score of 72/75 but eventually settled for bronze after shooting 29 targets.
Gold for Nivetha
N. Nivetha of Tamil Nadu, who was also one of the finalists in the senior category, clinched the gold by winning the shoot-off 2-1 against Shefali Rajak of Madhya Pradesh after the two were tied on a score of 37.
Delhi’s Soumya Gupta won the bronze with 26 hits.
