Olympic quota winner Saurabh Chaudhary came up with a brilliant performance to stamp his class in Men’s 10m Air Pistol (T1) at the ongoing selection trials in New Delhi.
The 18-year-old Saurabh of Uttar Pradesh, who is touted as India’s biggest hope for a medal in shooting in Tokyo Olympics, shot a score of 590 in qualification and topped the finals with 246.9 which is 0.4 point more than the world record.
Amanpreet Singh of ONGC won the second spot with 244.5 while 14-year-old Shiva Narwal of Haryana took the third spot ahead of the second Olympic quota winner Abhishek Verma who finished 4th.
In the women’s event, Olympic quota winner Manu Bhaker of Haryana shot 239.3 to win the women 10m air pistol (T1) with a margin of 1.1 point ahead of Tamil Nadu’s Shri Nivetha. Neha of Uttar Pradesh took the 3rd spot with 217.4.
The second Olympic quota winner in the event, Yashaswini Singh Deswal shot 570 in qualification and did not shoot the final.

Women’s 10m Air Pistol: 1. Manu Bhaker (Haryana) 239.3 (580); 2. Shiri Nivetha (Tamil 238.2 (572); 3. Neha 217.4 (571).
