Indian Men Skeet team, comprising of Mairaj Ahmed Khan, Angad Vir Singh Bajwa and Gurjoat Khangura, beat Kazakhstan 6-2 to win bronze medal at the ongoing ISSF World Cup Shotgun in Cairo, Egypt.
Olympic quota winner Angad was the star of the bronze medal match, hitting all his 16 targets.
The trio could have qualified for the gold medal match but they lost 6-5 to Russia in a shoot-off after the two were tied at a score of 491 each out of 525 in qualifying, which comprised seven rounds.
Russia won the Gold eventually beating the Czech Republic 6-0 in the finals.
Russia went on to win the gold by beating the Czech Republic 6-0 in the final.
The Indian Women Skeet team of Ganemat Sekhon, Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Karttiki Singh Shaktawat too made it to the bronze medal match against Kazakhstan but lost 6-4.
Incidentally, Russia bagged gold by beating the Czech Republic 6-2 in the women event too.
