    Hriday Hazarika steals limelight at Masters

    Hriday Hazarika made a clean sweep by winning three gold medals at the 11th Sardar Sajjan Singh Sethi Masters Shooting Championship in New Delhi, on Saturday.

    The 16-year-old, who had finished 8th in the Asian Airgun Championship in Tehran last year, won the gold in men, junior and youth categories in back-to-back finals at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range.

    In the men’s category, the silver was won by Om Kubal while Satyendra Singh won the bronze. ISSF World Cup finalist Deepak Kumar who topped with an impressive score of 627.2 finished fourth.

    In the Women’s 10m Air Rifle, Olympian Apurvi Chandela beat Anjum Moudgil by 1.7 points to win the gold while World Cup bronze medallist, Pooja Ghatkar won the bronze.

    Veteran Suma Shirur shot the best qualification score but finished fourth.

    Mehuli Ghosh from Kolkata was once again bang on target with gold medals in both junior and youth categories ahead of Manini Kaushik.

    In Women 25m Pistol, Gauri Sheoran beat Olympian Annu Raj Singh to claim the gold while Muskan won the bronze. Gauri also won the junior title in which Muskan took the silver while Chinki Yadav won the bronze.

    Olympian and World Cup gold medallist Rahi Sarnobat, who topped the qualification with a score of 576 finished sixth.

    In Men 50m Pistol, Arjun clinched the gold, silver was won by Kisto Lang while the bronze was won by Gurpal Singh.

    Surinder Singh won the junior gold. Anmol Jain won the silver while Arjun Singh Cheema took the bronze.
