Anjum Moudgil shot a superb final to claim the gold in the Women 10m Air Rifle at the 17th Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship in New Delhi.
The 23-year-old girl from Chandigarh shot 251.3 to beat Meghana Sajjanar of Karnataka by a clear margin of 3.1 points and claimed the yellow metal.
Olympian Ayonika Paul of Railways made a good comeback with a bronze as she pipped Pooja Ghatkar.
Anjum, who had won a bronze in the Asian Airgun Championship at Kuwait in 2014, registered the second best qualification score of 416.8 while Meghana topped the qualification round with 417.3.
Last month Meghana had narrowly lost a World Cup medal in the shoot-off and had settled for the fourth place in Gabala, Azerbaijan.
Meanwhile, promising youngster from Bengal, Mehuli Ghosh, impressed by winning the junior women’s gold and youth women’s silver, while Shreya Agarwal won the junior silver and youth gold. Samiksha Dhingra won the bronze in both the events.
