    Anish Bhanwala strikes again with two more medals at Junior World Championship

    Anish Bhanwala continued his superb form, as he clinched the sports pistol silver along with the team gold on the concluding day of the ISSF Junior World Championship in Suhl, Germany.

    The 15-year-old Anish who had won the standard pistol gold with a world record on the opening day, lost the gold today by one point to Pavlo Korostylov of Ukraine, who shot a world record equalling score of 590.

    Anish shot 295 in the precision stage and 294 in the rapid fire section, while the Ukrainian shot 295 each in the two stages.

    The trio of Anish, Anhad Jawanda (576) and Shivam Shukla (568) also won the team gold with a total score of 1733. The Koreans were a point behind India in winning silver, while China were a point behind the Koreans to win the bronze.

    India’s Muskan also made it to the finals of the Junior Women’s 25m Sports Pistol with a qualification score of 578 (Precision 287, Rapid 291). She started off well in the finals with four out of five hits and also fought hard during the course of the match but eventually finished fourth.

    However Muskan’s score was good enough along with Chinki Yadav who shot 571 (Precision 284, Rapid 287) and Gauri Sheoran with 562 (Precision 276, Rapid 286) to clinch the team bronze with a total score of 1711.

    In the individual ranking Chinki and Gauri finished 16th and 34th respectively.

    China won the team gold with a score of 1734 while Thailand won the silver.
