Ahead of its launch on July 20, Fantasy Shooting, conceived by indianshooting.com, received a major boost with shooting legends Vijay Kumar and Joydeep Karmakar lauding the path-breaking initiative.
Vijay, who etched his name in the record books by becoming the first Indian to win an Olympic medal in a pistol event, termed Fantasy Shooting as a “great step”. “The initiative will go a long way in increasing public interest and awareness,” said the silver medallist in 25m rapid fire pistol at the 2012 London Games.
Olympian and former national rifle coach, Joydeep, too came out in support of the concept that has the potential to change popular perception of shooting by way of its inclusive format.

This exciting skill-based game will allow enthusiasts the opportunity to test their knowledge and compete with like-minded players as they follow the fortunes of the Indian shooters in Paris.
With an impressive sum of ₹1 lakh on offer, cash prizes percolate right down to the 25th place. Of course, those who choose their team wisely and score well stand to gain the most.
Atop the summit is a cash prize of Rs 50,000, followed by Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 for the second and third place finishers.
In order to make the competition inclusive, those finishing 4th till the 25th spot stand to gain Rs 1000.
Once a player chooses his captain and a team, which will comprise one Indian shooter each across six events, 10m air rifle, 50m rifle three positions, 10m air pistol, 25m pistol, trap and skeet, the race to collect points will commence.
Gold will fetch 20 points, followed by 19 for silver and 18 for bronze, 17 for 4th and 16 for 5th. Rank 20th will fetch 1 point.
Points for the captain will get doubled, and if players are tied, the prize money will be distributed equally among the winners.
