Chinki Yadav secured the Olympic quota in women 25m pistol at the ongoing 14th Asian Shooting Championship in Doha, Qatar.

The 21-year-old Chinki shot a perfect 100 to register the second best qualification score of 588, but finished sixth in the final.

This is India second quota in the event after Rahi Sarnobat won the first one at the ISSF World Cup in Munich, earlier this year.

Shooting in the MQS category, Rahi and Manu Bhaker shot 589 and 584 respectively.

Other Indians in the fray, Annu Raj Singh (575) and Neeraj Kaur (572) finished 21st and 27th respectively.

Indian shooters have won eleven quotas so far.

Chinki grew up watching shooters as her family lived inside a stadium, and developed an interest in the sport herself.

After being selected through a talent hunt in the Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy in Bhopal, Chinki soon started attracting eyeballs of the coaches. Her talent was appreciated by everyone including her father who always supported her. Chinki father Mehtab Singh Yadav is an electrician and has been associated with the sports department for the last 23 years. He credits the sports department for sponsoring Chinki and helping her become a great shooter.
