Veteran shooter Kuheli Gangulee outclassed her trainee and former World Champion Tejaswini Sawant to win gold in the Women 50m Rifle Prone at the 17th Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship in New Delhi.
The 47-year-old current National Champion, who trains Tejaswini as her personal coach, shot 619.5 to finish 0.4 point ahead of her ward at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range on Saturday.
Chahat Deep Kaur got the bronze, 1.2 point ahead of Anjum Moudgil in a field of 80 shooters.
In the junior women’s event, KU Priya beat Sonika by one point for the gold, while Ayushi Podder pipped Kinnori Konar for the bronze on the count back after the two tied on 613.4.
